Woman run over by her car at local business

A  woman was injured Friday when she was run over by her own car.

The incident happened at Midway Grill on Highway 24/27 outside of Robbins shortly after 3 p.m.

According to Moore County Chief Deputy Richard Maness, the woman went to get her food at the window and thought her car was in park. When she stepped out, the car started rolling and ran her over.

Aircare was called but later canceled. The woman was transported to Moore Regional Hospital with serious injuries. 

One witness described the incident as a “freak accident.”

The identity of the woman was not released.

Responding to the scene were Robbins Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
