Two people were arrested on drug and child abuse charges, according to a news release from Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

After a “conclusion of a drug investigation,” a search warrant was obtained for a home on Lonnie Road in Robbins Wednesday.

Moore County Sheriff Deputies arrested Laurie Nicole Wright, 38, of Robbins, and Kevin Lamonte Pemberton, 43, of Robbins, on several charges.

Wright was placed under a $150,000 secured bond at the Moore County Detention Center and charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juvenile, and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

Authorities charged Pemberton with possession of methamphetamine, maintain vehicle/dwell/place controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juvenile. He was placed under a $150,000 bond.

Both suspects are due in court on March 26 and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
