David Earl Hannon, 84, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his residence.
David was born May 7, 1939 in Robeson County, NC to the late William David Hannon and the late Mamie Allen Hannon. He was one of three sons.
David is survived by his loving wife of 65 years; Grace Hannon; son, Robert David Hannon (Linda) and grandson, Robert Joseph Hannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Jerry Hannon.
David was the owner and operator of Southern Pines Auto Sales for 46 years. Prior to establishing the auto dealership, David worked for PJ Lorillard Tobacco Company and Clairol Hair Coloring & Cosmetics Company. David was a member of the NC National Guard for ten years. He was always a faithful follower of Christ and worked diligently in many capacities where he attended church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pinehurst, 7373 NC-211, West End, NC 27376.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be direct to First Baptist Church of Pinehurst or to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
