Aberdeen accident near Starbucks injures one

A traffic accident in Aberdeen left one vehicle overturned in the road, and one person was transported to the hospital. The accident occurred in front of Starbucks on Highway 15-501 late Friday afternoon.

A Dodge Charger appeared to be heading south when it collided with a Suzuki SUV. The Charger crashed into the driver’s side of the Suzuki causing the SUV to flip over onto its passenger side causing extensive damage. The front end of the Charger suffered heavy damage, and both vehicles remained in the road after the collision.

There were several children involved in the accident, but none of them had to transported to the hospital by EMS after being examined at the scene. The driver of the Charger was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Aberdeen Police were on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.

The accident caused traffic to be backed up and slow moving for an extended time.

Responded to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police Department, and Rockwell Towing.
