A T-bone accident caused a portion of Highway 705 in the Westmoore community to close for several hours Tuesday around 6:30 p.m.
Witnesses say a car ran a stop sign at West Side Road and Highway 705 before hitting a work truck hauling a trailer.
The truck came to rest on the driver’s side in the southbound lane. The trailer ended up in an embankment right side up. Equipment from the trailer was scattered along the side of the road.
The two male occupants of the truck were checked out by Moore County EMS and released at the scene with no injuries.
One occupant from the car was taken by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Their condition is unknown but is nonlife threatening.
Robbins Fire and Rescue and Moore County Sheriff’s Office assisted Westmoore Fire and Rescue on the scene and with road blocks. Highway 705 was closed from Dan Road to Dover Church Road.
N.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
