Two drivers were transported to the hospital following a T-bone collision at the intersection of Highway 5 and Linden Road in Aberdeen on Wednesday afternoon. The collision happened just before 4 p.m. and resulted in traffic delays on the busy stretch of road.Â
Authorities on the scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the accident occurred when a southbound Nissan Rogue on Highway 5 struck a Toyota passenger car that was turning left from Linden Road. The impact struck the Toyota on the driver’s side.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and airbags deployed from the force of the impact.
Each vehicle had only one occupant, and no life-threatening injuries were reported.
One lane of Highway 5 was closed while first responders worked the scene, which led to delays in traffic until the wreckage could be cleared.Â
