A large crowd gathered Monday morning for Cannon Park Community Center’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house.
The new home of Pinehurst Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of spaces and programs for the community to participate in.
The $4.9 million center, located at 210 Rattlesnake Trail, has 19,555 square feet of space featuring programs for all age groups and includes a full-size gymnasium with court lines for basketball, volleyball and pickleball, a multi-purpose room, various classrooms for programs and activities, offices for parks and recreation staff, restrooms, storage, and a small concession/catering kitchen.

“All program registrations, facility rentals for athletic fields, shelters, the Arboretum and the center itself will be managed from this new location,” said the Village of Pinehurst on its website.
The center opened in January.
Pinehurst broke ground on the facility in December 2018.
