Crews respond to three-car collision

On Tuesday at 12:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the scene of a three-car collision. The crash occurred in the 1700 block of Browns Mill Road in Westmoore.

According to authorities on scene, a Honda passenger car crossed the centerline sideswiping a Ford work van and a Buick SUV before spinning around.

The Ford van went into bushes at the side of the road and had damage to the driver’s side. The Buick SUV went off the road through bushes and a fence before resting in a field. The SUV suffered front driver’s side damage. The Honda car remained on the road with heavy damage to the front and driver’s side.

The debris, including the Honda’s tire, was scattered approximately 50 feet down the road and on the side of the road.

The male driver of the van was not injured. The female driver and her minor passenger from the Buick SUV were also not injured. According to Chief Kennedy of Westmoore Fire and Rescue, the female driver of the Honda car was taken by Moore County EMS to Moore Regional Hospital.

Robbins Fire and Rescue was dispatched to assist Westmoore Fire and Rescue.

Browns Mill Road was closed for some time by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, so the N.C. Highway Patrol could conduct an investigation, and cleanup could get underway.
