Death investigation underway after two bodies found in Pinehurst home

A death investigation is underway after two bodies were found Tuesday morning in Pinehurst.

An elderly couple was found deceased inside their home in the 100 block of Frye Road after 9 a.m. by a caretaker.

“At this time, there is an ongoing death investigation,” said officials on the scene. “The family has to be located before any further information will be released. There is no threat to the community at this time.”

Pinehurst Police Chief Glen Webb said, “This is an isolated incident.”

After family in New York was notified, officials confirmed to Sandhills Sentinel on Thursday it was a murder-suicide and that the man and woman were dealing with health issues.
