Driver uninjured after rollover in Lobelia

A woman driving through Lobelia Tuesday afternoon went for a scary ride when she was involved in a rollover accident. The single-vehicle crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Lobelia Road near the intersection of McGill Road.

The driver was traveling west toward Vass in a Toyota Sequoia when she lost control and went off the roadway, crashing into a power pole. The SUV stopped on its side, leaning against the pole just a few feet from a creek.

The female was the only occupant, and after firefighters removed the windshield, she was able to walk away from the vehicle. She was checked out at the scene by EMS but did not require transport to the hospital.

The power pole was broken in half in the crash, and the power company was dispatched for repairs.

Lobelia Road was down to one lane while crews worked the scene, and the vehicle was removed.

Highway Patrol was on the scene investigating the crash.
