A fire that broke out Monday morning at a landscaping business in Pinebluff reduced a large outdoor structure to rubble and destroyed everything inside, including two recreational vehicles. The fire was reported at Aurora Hill Farms Nursery & Landscaping shortly after 9 a.m. on Currant Street Extension.
By the time first responders arrived, the structure was already engulfed in flames. Crews began attacking the blaze as it spread through the building, which was a large metal structure covering the recreational vehicles and contents stored beneath.
The flames came within feet of a chicken run on the property, but did not reach the animals. Despite the size and intensity of the fire, firefighters were able to get the scene under control shortly after arriving.
Fire officials on scene told Sandhills Sentinel that the fire reportedly started after the property lost power and electricity came back on.
No one was injured, but the structure and its contents were a total loss. The remains of the structure were left as charred, twisted metal after the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. This is the second fire Sandhills Sentinel has covered at a local landscaping business within a month.
Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including units from as far away as Fort Bragg, to help contain the flames.
