Four-vehicle wreck occurs at five-way intersection

A four-vehicle wreck took place Thursday afternoon in Pinehurst at the five-way intersection of Beulah Hill Road N, McCaskill Road E, and Barrett Road W.

Authorities say that a GMC was traveling Northbound on Beulah Hill Road N when a Hyundai at the Barrett Road W stop sign pulled out into the road.

The impact of the two cars sent the GMC into the driver’s side of a Mustang waiting at the McCaskill Road E stop sign. The Hyundai continued straight on and ran into a Pilot waiting at the same stop sign.

Witnesses say the Pilot was preparing to turn left onto Beulah Hill Road N, and the Mustang was waiting to turn right onto Beulah Hill Road N.

No one was injured in the wreck; each car had only one occupant, except for the GMC, which was carrying two adults and a small child.

All four vehicles sustained extensive damage. Officials worked to clear the scene quickly, directing traffic through the intersection as needed.

Moore County EMS, the Pinehurst Fire Department, and the Pinehurst Police Department responded to the scene.
