Head on Collision May Street Southern Pines

Authorities were dispatched at approximately 7:15 pm on Thursday night to the corner of May Street and East Vermont Avenue in Southern Pines.  Upon arrival, they found two vehicles that had collided head on with extensive damage to both cars.  All occupants were out of the vehicles, and they appeared to be unharmed.  The driver of the Mustang was reportedly turning left onto Vermont Avenue when he was struck head on by a car traveling south on May Street.  The impact sent both vehicles off the side of the road where they came to rest.  North May Street at Vermont Avenue was shut down, and the traffic was rerouted until the scene could be cleared.  Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Southern Pines Police Department.
