The Aberdeen Police Department announced the arrest of Lewis Fulton, 45, of Sanford. On Oct 17, investigators responded to the Sanford Police Department in reference to a report of various sexual crimes against children that previously occurred, which was discovered during an on-going investigation they were conducting, said the Aberdeen Police Department in a press release. The victims were identified as female juveniles, aged 12 and 14.
Aberdeen investigators obtained copies of reports and reviewed statements given by the juvenile victims. The juveniles were interviewed by forensic analysts at a Children’s Advocacy Center, where their statements were verified. The investigation continued, and on Oct. 29, investigators confirmed the crimes occurred at a motel in Aberdeen’s jurisdiction. Warrants were obtained on Fulton for the following charges: felony statutory rape of a child by an adult, felony statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, felony second degree forcible rape, felony second degree forcible sex offense, and two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child.
On Oct. 29, the warrants were served by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where Fulton was already in custody from previous charges of felony indecent liberties with a child. Fulton was given no bond as a condition of pretrial release.
