Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will need to close Pinehurst Avenue at the intersection of U.S. 1 in Southern Pines for five nights this week for utility work.
Crews will close Pinehurst Avenue nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Sept. 2-6, weather permitting, announced NCDOT in a press release.Â
To reach Pinehurst Avenue, drivers will detour using Murray Hill Road to U.S. 15-501.
Expect up to 20-minute delays in both directions along U.S. 1.
Drivers should be aware of posted signs and use extra caution in this work zone.
