OA Defense, the manufacturer of the OA 2311 line of handguns, is relocating its company headquarters to a new 30,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Robbins. The company announced the big move on Wednesday, May 7, on its Facebook page, and already aims to begin operations this summer.
“We are excited to join the ranks of other prestigious manufacturers in North Carolina and to expand our team and our capabilities at our new Moore County headquarters,” said David Wollman, vice president and cofounder of OA Defense.
According to a public statement made by OA Defense, the move to Robbins will expand the company’s production capabilities with “increased manufacturing capacity required to keep up with the market demand for its pistols” while also accommodating future growth.
“We look forward to doubling down on our commitment to American craftsmanship and faith-based business practices as we write the next chapter of the OA Defense story,” said Paul Ross, president of OA Defense. “This strategic move gives us the space to ramp up production and improve our efficiency while providing direct access to our core clientele and skilled personnel within the special operations community.”
The new facility will reportedly include expanded machining and assembly departments, enhanced quality control areas, a larger warehouse, and an on-site test range for research and development.
Wollman describes the company as “proud to be a driving force of innovation and American manufacturing in the firearms industry.”
In preparation for the Moore move, OA Defense has already begun reaching out to the community. So far, they have provided sponsorships and support for the Southern Pines Youth Rugby team, the Sandhills Bogeys baseball program, the Carolina Rodeo Company, and the Grace Christian School Shooting Team.
“Their decision to relocate their manufacturing facility here speaks volumes about the strength of our business community and the incredible opportunities our region offers,” said Linda Parsons, president and CEO of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, who welcomes the company to the Sandhills. “OA Defense brings not only innovation and industry expertise, but also new jobs and energy to our growing economy. We look forward to supporting their continued success and are proud to have them join the Moore County business family.”
The company plans to begin operations at the new facility this summer, and an official ribbon-cutting event will be scheduled for the fall. The company did not release the address of the new facility.
