Dorothy Oxendine Evans passed away July 16, 2018 with family by her side.
Dorothy was born in Robeson County on July 9, 1939 to the late Clester and Mildred Burnett Oxendine. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Renita Hunt Hartsell, her brother William Oxendine and sister Dorothea Oxendine.
Survivors include daughters Debra Comeau (Dennis) of Rock Hill, SC; Rhonda Buie (Marty) of Cameron; Lisa Hart (David) of Florence TX; Rose Martin of Valdosta, GA; Millie Hanks (Johnny) of Cameron; sons James Martin (Tammie) of Vass; Sheldon Evans (Kelli) of Tampa FL; and Christopher Evans (Jennifer) of Pinehurst. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; her sister Katie Wright of Aberdeen; brothers Clester Oxendine II of Aberdeen; Charles Oxendine of Pinebluff; and Weldon Oxendine of Cameron.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 7:00PM – 9:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. The funeral will be Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines. In addition, friends are being received at the home of Millie Hanks, 1461 Red Hill Road, Cameron.
