Jay Garrison of Pinebluff passed away on September 16, 2019, at the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 75. Jay was born Omar Jay Garrison, Jr in Moore County on March 4, 1944, to the late Omar Jay Garrison, Sr. and Mary Greene Garrison.

While growing up Jay and his family eventually moved from neighboring Hamlet to Aberdeen and where he graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1962. Jay has always been an entrepreneur throughout his entire life where he was the owner of Big A’s Auto Parts on Hwy 1 along with Brooks Minute Market and the Ice Cream Bar. He was also the inventor and owner of Original Air Time. He will always be remembered for his love of horses and working on his farm. Jay was a loving and giving man. Jay found joy in planting and growing produce. He loved it so much that he would grow an abundance of produce in his garden so that he could share his bounty with others. Along with his parents, Jay is proceeded in death by his sister, Laine Brewer.

Jay is survived by his children, Jason and his wife, Jill of Waxhaw, Holly Garrison of Pinebluff, Jonathan Garrison and his wife, Allison of San Diego, CA, Samantha Garrison of Southern Pines, Jessica Garrison of Aberdeen; his siblings, Frankie Kinnard of Charlotte, Avon McCaskill and her husband, Hugh of Columbia, MD, and Robert Garrison and his wife, Deborah of Broadway as well as nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on the grounds of Jay’s former home on what is now, Crumpler Funeral Home of Aberdeen on Friday, September 20th at 4:00 pm.

The family will receive friends and fellowship following the memorial service.
