Obituary Jerry B. Manar

Jerry B. “Squire” Manar, 87 passed away on June 6, 2020 at The Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC.

Squire was born March 25, 1933 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to the late Rosemond Robertson and Hugh Moore Manar. He attended Vanderbilt University after serving in the US Army from May 1953 to April 1955.

He was a successful Commercial Real Estate Broker in Nashville, Tennessee and owned The Squire’s Table Steakhouse in Brentwood, Tennessee until he retired and relocated to Allen, Texas. He and Nancy were married in Dallas, Texas and when she retired, they moved to Pinehurst, N.C. in 2013. The are members of Southern Pines United Methodist Church.

He had a zest for life and sought to stay healthy by walking 2 miles most days and playing Pickle Ball on the Pinehurst Trace Team several times a week.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Pinehurst Trace; son Jerry B. “Jay” Manar, wife Bonnie of Ponte Vedre, Florida; daughter Connie Manar Vivoli of Florence, Italy, grandsons Garrett Manar, Grant Manar, Lorenzo Vivoli, and sister Judy Tiemann of Allen, Texas. His step children are Mark Moore of Cameron, NC and Lisa Bothmann, Virginia Beach, VA.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial will be announced and held at a later date.
