John Calhoun Caldwell, Jr., 96, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at his home in Pinehurst. Born in Charlotte, NC on July 18, 1927, he was the son of John Calhoun and Blanche Cashion Caldwell. He was a Civil Engineering graduate from Clemson University class of 1949 and worked for several N.C. architectural firms as construction administrator.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Harriss Caldwell, her sons, and his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. John will be remembered for his ready laugh and kind disposition.
John’s memorial will be held at his home, 2202 Cabot Circle, Pinehurst, NC, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
