Kenneth Ray Boyette, age 74, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville, NC.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, at 2:30 PM at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Creech officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

Ray was born in Harnett County on August 18, 1948, to the late Hosea and Kathleen Simmons Boyette.

Ray loved life and had a heart of gold. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Montrose during the Vietnam War. Ray was a member of the Hiram Lodge #98 of Clinton, Sampson County Sudan Shiners of Clinton and Sampson County Sudan Roadsters as Captain. He was a DJ for the original Bob and Ray at the beach radio show. Ray loved his family, friends, beach music and gospel music. He never met a stranger! He worked and retired from Lundy Packing Company and Steel Technologies as a long-distance truck driver.

Ray had so many friends that they would be to numerous to count. If you met Ray, you knew that he was a good-hearted man. In his work he met many people every day who after talking to him those people knew that there was something special about this man. He loved people! Once you met Ray you had a friend for life. If you saw him later he had a gift of remembering your name and where you had met. He would always take time to stop and talk and let you know that he cared about you. We will always remember that big smile, the laughter and the friendship we shared with Ray Boyette.

Rest in peace Ray as your memory lives on in our hearts forever.
