Marilyn Joy Pegg Blue, age 69, of Cameron, passed away at Wake Med Hospital on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Cypress Springs Presbyterian Church in Cameron, with Reverend Sam Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
Marilyn was born in Wake County on February 26th, 1954 to the late Ephrice Nebraska Pegg and Mary Francis Sprinkle Pegg. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Mike Blue and sons, Bradley Blue of Vass, and Daniel Blue of Southern Pines.
Marilyn worked at several places during her life, but enjoyed her time at Vass-Lakeview School the most. She started as a substitute, then ran the After School Program before becoming an assistant, and worked in the classroom with many teachers she remained close with through her life. She cherished her time there, and always spoke about how much she learned with, and from them. She was very proud of earning her Associate degree for Assistants through Moore County Schools and Sandhills Community College.
Marilyn was a faithful and active Woman of the Church at Cypress Springs Presbyterian Church, serving several roles during her life.
Marilyn was a loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her two boys, Bradley and Daniel, and loved with all her being her husband Mike, and they recently had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by friends and family.
