Obituary for Reginald Howard Wilson of West End

Reginald Howard Wilson, 79, of West End, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Reggie was born on April 8, 1944 in High Point NC to the late Vester and Helen Freeman Wilson. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruby Cagle Wilson; daughters, Robin Styers (Fred), Regenia Wilson (Clay), Rebecca Brock (David); two grandchildren, Christopher Kelso (Leighann) and Britany Kelso; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Raegan Kelso; his brother Michael Wilson (Sharon); and sister-in-law, Joyce Walker (Bart) and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest daughter Joy Wilson; brothers, Phil and Ray Wilson, and a sister-in-law, Rachel King.

Reggie worked as a truck driver with a CB handle “Yellow Canary” for both Gallimore Trucking and Standard Trucking.  He also worked in the shipping department for Stanley Furniture.  He was a charter member of Middle Cross Baptist Church. Reggie was always involved in Church. He had previously served as a deacon when he attended First Baptist Church in West End.  His giving nature led him to helping many of his friends and neighbors when they needed anything he could provide.  He was called the “Bike Man” because he would fix up bikes to sale, but more often he gave them away to kids that didn’t have a bike and their parents couldn’t afford one.  He enjoyed going to car shows with his brother and many of his friends as well as fishing. Most of all, Reggie had an undying love for his family.    

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM – 8:00PM at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00PM at Middle Cross Baptist Church in West End.  Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. 

The family respectfully wishes memorial contributions be made to either FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Rd, Pinehurst, NC 28374 or to Middle Cross Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
