Robert Ray “Bob” Couch, 88, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Pinehurst Nursing Center.
Bob was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on August 11, 1931 to the late John and Delia Noblett Couch. After graduating from Tracy High School in California, he joined the Marines. After military service, he spent his working career in sales, mostly for Cresent Jewelers in California and Hawaii. He married Mary Ann Farnsworth in 1992 and a few years later they moved to Pinehurst, NC. There, he enjoyed playing golf with a regular group (The Couch Potatoes) and working part-time for Robert’s Golf Shop in Aberdeen.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary Ann Farnsworth; daughter Julie Ray; step-children Glen Farnsworth (Kara), Marilyn Wendling (Mark), Lisa Farnsworth (Jim Stoeffler) and six grandchildren Blake, Ciara, Briana, Leslie, Lauren and Samantha.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his first wife Janet Rafetto; son John Couch; and siblings Leon Couch, Leo Couch, Eulene Merhing, and Robbie Desimone.
