Thomas Edward Moore, 90, of Whispering Pines died on May 14, 2018.
He was born in Tunnellton, West Virginia, to Harry C. Moore and Rose M. Moore on April 18, 1928. The family moved to Carrollton, Ohio, when he was five years old. He was active in football and the school choir, graduating from Carrollton High School in 1947.
After living in Carrollton, Ohio for five more years after his graduation he married Mary Ann Polen, and they moved to Canton, Ohio. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Elks Club of North Canton, Shady Hollow Country Club of Massillon, Ohio, and the Canton Civics Opera of Canton, Ohio, whose chorus traveled to six countries in Europe.
He started working at Republic Steel Company when he was nineteen years old. Receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering from a correspondent course from the University of Chicago, he was selected to become a part of the Technical Operation Training from Republic Steel Company.
He and his wife retired to Whispering Pines in 1983. For twenty-five years he was employed by Pinehurst Resorts. He enjoyed golf at Whispering Pines Country Club. During his golfing years, he made three holes-in one. He also enjoyed card clubs and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Moore; his son, Terry Moore; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Emmett Flannery; and his son-in-law, Joseph LaCoursiere.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan LaCoursiere; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Donald Duval; two grandsons, many nephews and nieces, and one great granddaughter.
