Sen. Thomas McInnis will hold a town hall meeting with Rep. Jamie Boles, U.S. Congressman Dan Bishop, and Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields on Friday, Feb. 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Aberdeen Recreation Center.
Individuals in the Sandhills area who received unrequested account openings with checks and debit cards mailed to their home address from TD Bank are welcome to share their concerns.
Sen. McInnis said, “It appears that the personal information of a large number of Sandhills area residents has been hacked. That information was possibly obtained by a criminal element who illegally opened bank accounts without the owners’ knowledge or consent. As access to information on the internet increases, so do our concerns about our financial security and privacy.”
This meeting will allow elected officials to learn the extent of this major fraudulent action taking place in our community.
“It is our intent to do whatever is necessary to protect our constituents from illegal and fraudulent banking activities,” said McInnis.
The Aberdeen Recreation Center is located at 301 Lake Park Crossing.
