One person was injured in a single-vehicle accident Saturday. The accident occurred on U.S. 1, south of Vass, in front of the Small Animal Emergency Services Center at 2:30 p.m.
The male driver of a Kia Optima ran off the right-hand side of the road and overturned with the vehicle coming to a stop on its side by the fence. The male victim was transported by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional with non-life threatening injuries.
This was the second accident the driver has been involved in over the past week, according to State Highway Patrol. In the first accident, the driver struck a tree, with minor damage to the vehicle. The driver was not cited in that accident.
The Highway Patrol was on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.
Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the N.C. Highway Patrol.
