The students in the Landscape Gardening program at Sandhills Community College are currently taking orders for two plant sales.

Landscape Gardening students will help fund educational field trips by selling spring bedding plants. Marigolds, petunias, begonias, herbs, tomatoes, peppers, vincas, sweet potato vines and ornamental grasses will be available for pick-up. Early ordering is recommended as plants are allocated in order of receipt. The deadline for ordering is Friday, April 13 and plants can be picked up on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.

Landscape Gardening students, along with the Sandhills Horticultural Society, will hold a plant sale whereby proceeds go to funding the college’s public gardens and to student programs.

Three-gallon azaleas, camellias, barberries, hydrangeas, hollies, privets, blueberry bushes, viburnums, grape vines, anise, and dogwoods can be pre-ordered. Daylilies and summer flowering bulbs will also be available. Pre-orders will be taken until April 5. Plants will be available for pick-up on Saturday, April 14 from 8 a.m.-Noon at Steed Hall. A limited number of plants may be available that day that were not pre-ordered.

All plants were grown and maintained by SCC students. Contact Tricia Mabe at [email protected] or 910-695-3883/3882 or Dee Johnson at [email protected] for an order form.
