On Friday morning, a student on his way to school noticed smoke creeping into the cab of his pickup truck. He pulled over on Ritter Road in Robbins and lifted the hood to find his engine engulfed in flames.

Robbins Fire Department responded and was able to extinguish the fire quickly, but not before the front end and cab of the truck were destroyed. No injuries were reported.
Authorities on the scene said the cause of the fire is under investigation at this point.
State Highway Patrol also responded to the incident.
