A Robbins man is behind bars accused of murdering his 14-month-old son, according to a news release from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Emmanuel Jonathan Reza, 20, was arrested Friday and charged with second degree murder and felony child abuse-serious bodily injury. He was placed under a $1 million secured bond.
Sheriff deputies were called to a home in Robbins on June 22 for a report of a child suffering from traumatic injuries. Reza told authorities the injuries to his son, Noah, were due to a fall inside the home.
The baby was taken to UNC Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
“Sheriff’s Detectives investigated the case over the next three months,” said the news release. “As a result of this investigation, the victim’s father was arrested and charged in connection to the death.”
Reza has an October 9 court date and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
