Truck crashes in Cameron

A driver walked away with minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident Monday.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Stanton Hill Road, between White Oak Drive and Buttercup Trail in Cameron, when the driver of a Toyota Tundra lost control and went off the opposite side of the road, overturning and striking a tree.

Emergency units arrived on scene to find the driver out of the vehicle.

The driver was the only occupant and was checked out by EMS for minor injuries but did not require transport to the hospital.

One lane of Stanton Hill Road was shut down for a brief period while crews worked the scene, and the vehicle was removed.

N.C. State Highway Patrol was on scene investigating the accident.

Responding to the scene were Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Moore County EMS and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
