Business came to a halt at the Southern Pines Wells Fargo early Tuesday evening when a GMC truck smashed into one of the front windows of the building.
Just before 5 p.m., first responders received a call alerting them that a GMC Sierra had crashed into the front of Wells Fargo. Upon arriving on scene, emergency crews found that the pickup truck had accelerated over the curb and sidewalk before proceeding to slam into the front right side of the bank, going partly through one of the windows.Â
Rockwell Towing arrived to remove the truck from where it had become lodged in the brick. Both the bank and the truck sustained moderate damage. The front end of the truck suffered damage to the body of the vehicle, while the building was left with a large hole surrounding the site of impact.
No one was transported to the hospital as a result of the crash.Â
