West End traffic stop leads to drug arrest

After being arrested by detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, a man from Robbins faces several drug charges.

“On August 29, 2023, Detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Carthage Road in West End,” said Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news advisory. “During the traffic stop, detectives conducted a search of the vehicle. As a result of the search, detectives located methamphetamine, marijuana, items of drug paraphernalia, and items of marijuana paraphernalia.”

Jesse Riggans, 40, was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $2,500 secured bond on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

The suspect is due in court on Sept. 27 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
