Woman arrested after trailer with equipment stolen in Aberdeen

The Aberdeen Police Department announced in a news advisory the arrest of Kourtney Moore, 29, of Cameron. On May 30, Aberdeen officers and investigators responded to the Legacy Lakes neighborhood in Aberdeen in reference to the larceny of a trailer containing over $70,000 worth of equipment.

On June 12, Aberdeen investigators responded to Harnett County, where the trailer was recovered, but the equipment inside had been removed, and the trailer was abandoned. Upon further investigation, investigators located an online listing containing some of the items that were stolen from within the trailer. Persons of interest, to include Moore, were identified as Aberdeen investigators continued to follow up on leads.

On June 26, Aberdeen investigators, along with deputies from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, executed multiple search warrants, which led to the recovery of $116,490 worth of equipment stolen from the trailer. Warrants were then obtained on Moore for felony conspiracy to commit larceny.

On June 28, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office located Moore. She was taken into custody and brought before a Montgomery County magistrate, where she received a $3,500 secured bond.

Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
