An elementary school on Fort Bragg was evacuated Wednesday morning after receiving a bomb threat.

Authorities were on scene at Devers Elementary School in under five minutes but did not find a credible threat and cleared the school, according to a Fort Bragg news release.

Fort Bragg spokesman Tom McCollum told WRAL a male student said he had an IED in his backpack. First Responders brought in a K-9 unit to clear the threat and then brought a Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team in as an extra precaution.

Students were safe and warm during the incident and have returned to classes to finish out their day.
