Campbell named interim principal at Crain’s Creek Middle

Moore County Schools appointed Shuris Campbell as the interim principal of Crain’s Creek Middle School, effective August 1.

Campbell has served as assistant principal at Crain’s Creek Middle over the past two years, where she has supported academic growth, strengthened school culture, and led initiatives that promote student success, said the school district in a media release.

Prior to joining Crain’s Creek Middle, she served as assistant principal at Southern Pines Elementary School and held leadership roles in both Moore and Richmond County schools. With a foundation in speech-language pathology and over two decades of service in Moore County, Campbell brings deep experience and a strong commitment to student achievement, according to the district.

Campbell earned her Master of School Administration from UNC Pembroke, a Master of Education from North Carolina Central University, and a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina State University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. Her extensive professional training and active involvement in leadership development programs reflect her dedication to continuous growth and educational excellence, according to the district.

“Mrs. Campbell is a respected and experienced leader whose strong relationships with students, staff, and families have made a lasting impact at Crain’s Creek,” said Dr. Tim Locklair, superintendent. “Her leadership is grounded in service, integrity, and an unwavering focus on helping every student succeed. We are proud to support her as she steps into this important role.”
