Neil Simon’s 'Odd Couple: Female Version' coming to the Sunrise stage

The Sunrise Theater will present a community production of Neil Simon’s “Odd Couple” on the weekends of May 10 and May 17. It is their second production of the 2024 season. Sunrise Theater thanks First Bank for sponsoring this event.

What do you do when your husband leaves you? If you’re neurotic perfectionist Florence Unger, the answer is become roommates with your loveable slob friend and fellow divorcee, Olive Madison. Watch as the two opposites collide and clash as they start to rebuild their lives without their husbands in this classic Neil Simon romp.

This play is a true community production in that all of the actors, directors, technicians, and artists come from the community! From the Pinecrest students working backstage to the local actors treading the Sunrise boards, come see as members of our community join together to make theater. You can see the chemistry of all the cast and crew in early rehearsals where its clear that not only do they enjoy each other offstage, they play off each other naturally in every scene.

“Odd Couple: Female Version” is being directed by stage veterans Jessie Dietzel and Amy Damone. They have been involved in theater for decades and are currently on their third season as the Sunrise Theater’s in-house direction team. When asked about “Odd Couple,” Amy Damone said, “This show is a non-stop, hilarious ride that you don’t want to miss! It’s Neil Simon’s classic Odd Couple story with a twist and this incredible cast of characters will have you rolling in the aisles. We can’t wait to see you at the Sunrise for this show!”
