Police say two people were arrested for charges related to the sexual assault of a minor child.
In a news release, Sheriff Ronnie Fields said the pair was arrested Wednesday evening.
Angel Rose Brown, 37, and Harley Ray Brown, 17, both of Seagrove, were arrested and placed each under $75,000 secured bonds.
“The Moore County Sheriff’s Office received information of the possible sexual assault of a child that occurred in the Seagrove area of Moore County,” said Sheriff Fields. “Detectives investigating the case, with the assistance of the South Mountain Moore County Child Advocacy Center, determined the assault occurred in mid-April, 2019. As a result of the investigation, warrants were obtained on the mother of the child as well as a male suspect.”
Angel Rose Brown was charged with one count of felony child abuse by allowing a sexual act to be committed and one count of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Harley Ray Brown was charged with one count of felony first degree statutory sex offense, one count of crimes against nature, and one count of felony indecent liberties with a child.
The news release did not state the relationship between the suspects and the child.
