A traffic accident at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Murray Hill Road injured 6 people, four of which were children Sunday.
The accident left one vehicle overturned and the driver ejected from the vehicle. The Lincoln MKX overturned in the middle of the intersection and a Chevrolet Suburban suffered extensive damage.
Three ambulances transported the victims to Moore Regional Hospital. None of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening. A third adult was involved in the accident but wasn’t transported to the hospital.
The accident closed U.S.1 south for an extended period of time while emergency crews worked.
Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire Department, Southern Pines Police Department, and Moore County EMS.
