A man from Aberdeen was charged with indecent liberties with a minor and statutory rape of 15 years old or younger and is being held under a $500,000 secured bond at the Richmond County jail.
Moises Palacios, 20, was arrested on April 6 by the Hamlet Police Department after warrants were issued at the Richmond County Courthouse on Oct. 18, 2023, according to court documents.
The alleged crimes occurred on Aug. 3, 2023. Palacios’ first court appearance was set for April 9.
According to court records, Palacios is also facing charges with the Pinehurst Police Department for possessing, selling or buying a gun with an altered serial number, carrying a concealed gun and resisting a public officer for an unidentified incident that occurred on May 16, 2023. His last disposition hearing was on April 7. His next court date is June 9.
