Aberdeen Elementary principal resigns

The Moore County school district announced the resignation of the Aberdeen Elementary School principal.

“Principal Brandi Kelly has resigned from her position at Aberdeen Elementary, effective immediately,” the school district shared with families on Wednesday. “We extend our gratitude to Principal Kelly for her dedication and leadership at Aberdeen and wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”

Debbie Warren was announced as the interim principal for the remainder of the school year.

“Mrs. Warren, a well-respected veteran educator and leader within Moore County Schools, was honored as our 2023-2024 District Principal of the Year,” said the school district. “Mrs. Warren previously served as the principal of Aberdeen Elementary for nine years. This extensive experience with the Aberdeen school community and her commitment to excellence in education make her uniquely qualified to lead Aberdeen Elementary during this period of transition.”

Moore County Schools Director for Communications Charles Batchelor told Sandhills Sentinel that there is no other information to share at this time.
