Car flips in West End crash

A 19-year-old suffered minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in West End. The incident happened on Carthage Road near McKenzies Mill Road just after 11:30 a.m.

Seven Lakes Fire Department arrived to a heavily damaged Honda Civic, and Moore County EMS assessed the male driver at the scene. The driver initially refused treatment but later requested EMS to return to the location due to back pain.

Car flips in West End accident

North Carolina State Highway troopers are investigating the crash. Troopers told Sandhills Sentinel the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and then hit a tree. The car also flipped during the crash.

The male driver will be charged with exceeding the speed limit, said troopers.
