CarolinasDentist in Southern Pines gave back to the community with free dental care to uninsured residents on June 4. The free service event was announced on social media and by word-of-mouth attracting 20 people who made appointments.
The outreach program served financially struggling members of the community, homeless members and members from a women’s shelter.
Patients filled out their health history information in the festive waiting room decorated with colorful streamers and balloons in honor of the special event.
“We were able to provide seven cleanings, twelve extractions, five fillings, and one crown. As far as any type of follow-up appointments, we don’t have another free dental day scheduled as of yet but are hoping to plan another day in the future,” CarolinasDentist administrator Tabetha Crotzer said.
Dental assistants Abrylnn Ewings, Kaitlyn Patterson and Ashlyn Kegmoole-Poirer take a break June 4 from the special event day at CarolinasDentist in Southern Pines.
“We are happy to give back,” Dental assistant Abrylnn Ewings said.
Chick-fil-A provided lunches for CarolinasDentist’s team members and patients.
The June 4 free dental care day was the first at the Southern Pines office and was inspired by a preceding event in the Wilmington office.
