Carthage man facing child sex crime charges

A Carthage man is facing three child sex crime charges, according to Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields.

“In March of 2024, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sex offense committed against a child in Carthage, North Carolina,” said Fields in a press release on Thursday. “Following an extensive investigation, sheriff’s detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of Joseph Adam Brady, age 44, of Carthage, North Carolina in connection with the reported abuse.”

Brady was apprehended in Franklin County on Tuesday. He is facing charges of two counts of statutory rape and one count of indecent liberties with a minor child.

Brady was transported to the Moore County Detention Center, where his bond was set at $500,000.

He is due in court on Aug. 1 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
