David Munton has been named chief financial officer of Central Carolina Hospital, effective June 3.
Munton has been with Duke LifePoint Healthcare since 2021, serving most recently as chief financial officer of Twin County Regional Healthcare in Galax, Virginia. Prior to that, he served as controller of National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, from 2021 to 2023.
Before joining Duke LifePoint, Munton served as financial analyst and an accountant with Loma Linda University Health Shared Services, in Loma Linda, California.
A native of California, Munton received his master of science accountancy and his Bachelor of Arts in business administration with a concentration in finance from California State University in San Bernadino, California.
“David brings more than 15 years of experience to CCH and has worked with small community hospitals as well as large hospital systems,” said Dave Santoemma, CEO, in a press release. “He will be strongly focused on helping us achieving our financial and operational goals, as a welcome addition to our leadership team.”

Munton is married to his wife of 16 years, Melissa, and they have two children: Andrew, age 15, and Isaiah, age 8.
