The Town of Southern Pines recently shared that changes are “coming with the New Year” to the town’s garbage and recycling programs.
“Recycling will be provided on a bi-weekly, opt-in subscription service only,” announced the Town of Southern Pines in an official civic alert. Per the alert, customers who subscribe will receive a 95-gallon recycle cart. Recycle bins will no longer be collected.
Customers who need more than one recycle cart can be accommodated.
“Garbage will remain weekly with Town-provided 95-gallon carts,” reads the announcement. “Customers requiring a new or second cart may request one.”
Customers who have two garbage carts and wish to continue to have two garbage carts collected weekly must subscribe for the additional cart.
