A Thursday afternoon rush-hour crash in Carthage temporarily closed Glendon Carthage Road as crews cleaned up the scene.
According to N.C. State Highway Patrol, the driver of a van ran a stop sign on Old River Road and collided with a pickup truck traveling north on Glendon Carthage Road.
A van careens down an embankment Thursday afternoon.
The impact forced the van down an embankment partially into the woods. The pickup truck was also forced off the road and turned onto its side.
Drivers of both vehicles were taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers say the driver of the van is facing a charge of failure to stop at a stop sign.
Responding to the crash were units with Carthage Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and N.C. State Highway Patrol.
