Dérive Health, a physician-led mental health and wellness clinic focused on evidence-based, brain-centered care, has officially opened its second North Carolina location in Pinehurst, expanding access to advanced mental health services for the Sandhills region—an area with a strong and deeply rooted veteran community.
The new clinic is located at 140 Applecross Road, Suite A, Pinehurst. The 1,700-square-foot facility includes four private treatment rooms and a welcoming reception and lobby area, designed to provide a calm, supportive environment for patients seeking care.
“Moore County has a deep connection to the military community, and it was important for us to be present in a place where so many people have spent their lives serving others,” said Dr. Jonathan Leake, MD, co-founder and medical director of Dérive Health. “Many veterans and first responders carry invisible wounds from years of service. Our goal is to provide safe, ethical, physician-led care that gives people new tools to heal, regain clarity, and move forward with their lives.”

The clinic is designed to provide a calm, supportive environment for patients seeking care.
In addition to expanding services in the region, Dérive Health has partnered with Task Force Dagger, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting members of the U.S. Special Forces and their families. Through this partnership, Task Force Dagger will fund full ketamine therapy treatments for eligible Special Operations veterans, helping remove financial barriers to care for those who have served in some of the military’s most demanding roles.
“This partnership is incredibly meaningful to us,” said Keith Parris, co-founder at Dérive Health. “Special Operations veterans often face some of the most complex and long-standing mental health challenges, yet many struggle to access advanced treatment options. Working with Task Force Dagger allows us to ensure these men and women receive the care they deserve without cost standing in the way.”
Dérive Health offers a comprehensive range of services, including ketamine-assisted therapy, NAD+ therapy, and personalized treatment plans, all overseen by licensed medical professionals and grounded in current research and clinical best practices. Ketamine therapy, when delivered in a carefully monitored clinical environment, has shown promising results for individuals experiencing depression, PTSD, anxiety, and treatment-resistant mental health conditions.
At Dérive Health, the therapy is integrated into a broader treatment approach that prioritizes safety, preparation, and long-term mental health outcomes. “Our work requires time, safety, and intention,” Leake said. “This isn’t high-volume medicine. It requires a thoughtful environment where patients can feel supported and where clinicians have the space to do this work properly. Pinehurst allows us to practice medicine the way we believe it should be practiced – collaboratively and with depth.”
