DICK’S Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy Performance Center will host a grand opening celebration for the new stores in Southern Pines on Friday, March 8 — 10.
The all-new, completely re-imagined DICK’S location is at Morganton Park South shopping center. This location features team sports offerings of baseball, softball, soccer, and football that have evolved to deliver a one-stop-shop experience.
Athletes will also find House of Cleats, a 360-degree view of over 300 choices for cleats across multiple sports, as well as an expanded premium footwear deck. The new location also includes a multiuse cage that can be used for baseball, softball, football and soccer, giving athletes an opportunity to try products while measuring and tracking their performance.
Golf Galaxy Performance Center prides itself on its world-class selection of brand-name golf equipment, golf apparel, golf accessories, golf technology and golf gifts for golfers of all ages and abilities. Golf Galaxy offers a variety of premier apparel, footwear and equipment brands, and also sells pre-owned golf clubs and offers golf club trade-ins.
The Morganton Park South shopping center location features state-of-the-art hitting bays with TrackManTM technology, a putting green, the best gear from golf’s top brands and game-changing instruction from a PGA Professional.
To mark the occasion, on Friday, March 8, DICK’S and Golf Galaxy will kick off grand opening celebrations that will continue throughout the weekend with a variety of in-store events and giveaways, including:
● Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
● Autograph signings with current and former top athletes: Heather O’Reilly, James Worthy and Sam Howell
● Interactive DICK’S Grand Challenge that includes photo ops, agility courses, trivia, games and more
● Golf Galaxy Closest to the Pin Contest — the top three winners per day will win a $100 gift card
● Mystery Gift Cards for the first 100 adults (18 years and older) in line each day and Sweepstakes at both DICK’S and Golf Galaxy

Heather O’Reilly, American professional women’s soccer player, 6 p.m. — 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 8
James Worthy, seven-time NBA All-Star, will from 11:30 a.m. — 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9
Sam Howell, Washington Commanders quarterback, noon — 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10
Athletes will be at DICK’S to sign autographs or items purchased in-store the day of the event and meet fans. One hundred fifty wristbands will be distributed on location on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at store opening for each day’s appearance. Wristbands are required to attend the appearance and receive an autograph.
