A driver escaped serious injury Saturday when she ran off the road and crashed her car. The driver was headed east on Pinebluff Lake Road just after 4 p.m. The driver reportedly blacked out and crossed over the road crashing through a roadsign and several trees.

Initially, bystanders were unable to gain access to the driver, but emergency crews were able to get the driver’s door open and remove the victim from the car.

The driver was transported by EMS to Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital for further evaluation.

The NC Highway Patrol was on the scene and will be investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, and Pinebluff Police.
